£22,095
That’s the total amount raised from The Big Sleep out 2024.
During the month of February, owner Nathan Midgley and fellow Viking Marcus Williams took on the gruelling challenge of sleeping rough on the streets of Llandudno and the surrounding areas. For 28 nights they braved the evenings with nothing but a bivvy bag, sleeping bag, and cardboard to comfort them. Many other Vikings joined them on this challenge, many of which are staff from here at the Tynedale, and all of them played by the same rules whilst still never missing a beat in work. We’re immensely proud of their grit and resilience and consider ourselves very fortunate to have such people on our team.
The goal was to raise money for two local charities, Llandudno’s Hope Restored and Conwy Mind. These charities are full of amazing people doing incredible work on the frontline of homelessness and mental health. It is because of this it was decided that the Vikings should do a bit of suffering on their behalf! Initially, the goal was just to raise about £5,000, but due to the incredible level of support from people all over the country (and sometimes beyond), the amazing amount of £22,095 was eventually raised.
An awful lot of this support has come from patrons here at the Tynedale as well as many businesses that we deal with. We have been blown away by the generosity and effort put into this challenge by these people. We count ourselves incredibly lucky that we are linked to such people and would like to thank each and every one of our customers and business affiliates for what they’ve done. We couldn’t ask to deal with a greater bunch of people. Thank you all so much!
