We’re just coming to the end of our busy Mock cruising season which commenced on the 31st of January with our last cruise sailing on the 12th of April. We will have welcomed over 1700 guests during the past 11 weeks meaning our chefs will have prepared around 27360 courses not including breakfast, afternoon tea or the late night buffets Phew! We’ll be changing all the destinations and reinventing this break for 2012 so look out for our New Cruise Itinerary that will be available shortly.
In the meantime we’ve got some great offers available in this newsletter that we hope you’ll be able to take advantage of. Second Chef James Harrison son of Head Chef Neil Harrison tied the knot with his sweet heart Tezney Blacoe just before Christmas.

Following a very quiet Stag night in Leeds Hmmm enough said ! the happy couple tied the knot on the 4th of December 2010. James’s brother Chris Harrison who was also works at the Tynedale was his best man.

Good Luck to the Happy couple who spent their honey moon on the Sundrenched Island of Jamaica. No she went of her own accord Boom Boom !

Nathan Midgley joined ManagerEmilo Carcieroon a chilly night in December where Llandudno Junction under 12s enjoyed the opportunity to train at the Manchester City Academy. The boys also received their new Tynedale winter tracksuits followed by a trip to the city of Manchester Stadium to watch Manchester City play Everton. The Tynedale has enjoyed supporting the team for a number of years and are delighted with there performance in the new 11 a-side league where they have merged with Llandudno Junction. The boys remain unbeaten so far this season !!

Nathan and his daughter Alysha together with more than 400 other Santas took part in this years fun run to support childrens hospice Ty Gobaith, What a wonderfull sight with the promenade packed full of Santa and Snowman even dogs were dressed up as reindeer. The Run is hoped to have raised £20,000. Well done everybody.

Nathan Midgley and his nephew Tom Goodey braved the Icy waters (Minus 17) of Llandudno for the annual Llandudno Lions Boxing Day Dip. Thanks to all our customers who put £96.65 into our collecting pot over Christmas.

Once again Tracey Midgley has been waving her magic wand over a number of rooms at the Tynedale. If only it was that easy with a Team of 30 tradesman and a deadline of 10 days Tracey completed her program of upgrading work to all single rooms and ensuites to her exacting standards along with corridors new lighting scheme and tv system and still found time to redecorated the restaurant with brand new colour scheme, new chairs and art work as well as pick off a number of other bedrooms and en suites. Tracey has transformed the look of the Tynedale to the modern bright hotel you find today and is already busy planning the next phase.

Tynedale Hotel has been awarded a Certificate of Thanks from St Davids Hospice which we would like to share with our customers £442.01 raised through the collection boxes during 2010. Well done to every one.

Nathan Midgley once again took part in the annual Tough Guy challenge which took place on the last Sunday in January in Perton Wolverhampton.

Officially dubbed the Worlds most demanding one day survival ordeal. A 12 km assault course through Icy lakes, Fire pits, Vietcong tunnels and interrogation pit, the course is designed to give the most mental and physically demanding experience made all the worse because of the extreme cold.

Approximately 5000 people took part 35% failed to finish forced out mainly due to hypothermia with just 3220 finishing the course.

Nathan thought the course was harder than last year ‘you seemed to be in the water a lot longer, the most feared part of the course last year was the under water tunnels which caused your brain to freeze but that seemed bearable after the new under ground Torture chamber that involved squeezing yourself soaking wet through a series of small narrow pitch black tunnels whilst being hit by unavoidable electric shocks. Supported by my wife and children laughing and shouting run fatty run I was going to finish at all costs managing to knock 37 minutes off last years time.’

 Thanks to every one for their support £426 raised over two weekends for help the heroes’ sanctuary.
